Computaform, Computaform Express and Racing Express, published in leading Gauteng daily newspaper The Citizen, are South African horseracing’s top publications in their respective market segments.

All three are produced by Phumelela Publishing, which also produces free TAB Sheets (printable A4 racecards) for all races on which TAB offers betting.

Computaform

Computaform is South African horseracing’s premier form guide and one of the best of its kind in the world. Computaform users are predominantly horseracing’s high rollers.

Computaform contains full details of the last 10 performances of each runner with exclusive information like in-running positions at the 800m and 400m marks and 400m-to-finish times.

Computaform also contains runners’ full career records and their lifetime records at the relevant racetrack, on soft track conditions and over the distance of the race for which they are engaged.

Each race is previewed by Computaform’s team of top tipsters and there are speed ratings and computer ratings for all runners. The top runners in the distance category of each race are also highlighted and the most successful trainer-jockey combinations.

A Computaform is published for each race meeting in South Africa. It costs R25 and is sold at selected retail outlets and TABs.

A full online version of Computaform, with or without Fotoform, can be purchased on this site.

Computaform Express

Computaform Express is South African horseracing’s premier multi-meeting form guide and is the best-value racecard in the country.

Computaform Express is published twice weekly. Each book covers 4 to 5 race meetings:

  • Weekend: All South African meetings Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
  • Midweek: All South African meetings Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

There’s a 7-run history for each horse plus tips, perms and Computaform ratings for all meetings.

Computaform Express costs only R15 and is sold at selected retail outlets and TABs. It’s lengths ahead of its direct competitors both in terms of information and price.

Racing Express

Racing Express is a hugely popular 8-page pullout (12 pages on Fridays before major races) published free in The Citizen every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It’s packed with the latest news plus tips, betting and form for all race meetings, and is chief source of information for tens of thousands of horseracing enthusiasts.

Collectively, the 3 pullouts contain the fields for all South African race meetings in a week. Monday’s Racing Express previews South African races programmed for Mondays and Tuesdays, while the Wednesday insert covers South African race meetings on Wednesday and Thursday. The Friday Racing Express previews South African races that day and the weekend’s fixtures.

Racing Express Extra in The Citizen on Tuesdays and Thursdays contain the latest information for South African races the same day, plus statistics, news and other useful information. And the popular 8-page Form Focus in the Super Saturday Citizen is a treasure chest of hot info for the weekend, including in-depth form and the jockey silks in colour for the principal meeting.

Racing Express, Racing Express Extra and Form Focus also contain fields for all same-day international races on which TAB offers betting (space permitting). Betting on races outside South Africa’s borders now makes up a significant percentage of betting turnover and The Citizen through Racing Express, Racing Express Extra and Form Focus is the only newspaper in the country that provides coverage of these meetings.
