He comes
into Race 5 over 1400m at Flamingo Park today with a light weight and should
continue on his march to the big time.
Combera
Boy’s debut couldn’t have been more impressive. After a slow start he must have
had 12 lengths to make up at the top of the straight but won going away over
1600m. Next time out over 1800m he also left it until late and he flew to be
beaten 0.75 lengths in MR 68 company.
Back in
Kimberley over 1400m, he will have to be a little closer, but Nicola Welch
knows him well and he clearly has a good turn of foot. He should be right there
again.
Cleared is
in good form. His last run yielded a fifth to Arctic Jet in a MR 78 Handicap,
which is about as strong as racing gets in Kimberley. On that honest effort he
has to be respected.
Smart
Quest is also consistent. He has been racing in weaker company but his form is
solid and he must have a big chance.
In the
next race, Arctic Jet will be hard to beat. His main danger is Paprika, who has
good form in Port Elizabeth.
Little
Master looks a banker in the first leg of the Place Accumulator. In his
penultimate run, he led from start to finish to win well and will take a power
of beating.
