Twenty miles from Newcastle and 40 from Carlisle, this Northumberland jumps course opened in 1926 and is oblong in shape being approximately one and a half miles round.
It hosts jumps racing throughout the calendar year. From March to June there are several weekend and bank holiday fixtures, as well as popular evening meetings. Their highlight is the Northumberland National run in November.
Left-hand undulating track with ten easy fences and six hurdles per circuit, which becomes extremely testing when the going is soft. The long back straight is all downhill with an uphill climb to the finish and a run-in of 250yds.
