Solvalla is Sweden’s - and the whole of the Nordic region’s - largest trotting track.
Here, the Elite race - the world’s largest sprint race - is run on the last Sunday of May every year.
The Elite race meeting is held over three days and the main event usually attracts around 55,000 visitors. On the Sunday when the Elite race is run, there are over 30,000 people in attendance.
Several other major racing events are hosted at the track. On the first Sunday in October, the Swedish Trav-Criterium and the Swedish Trav-Oaks are held.
The Criterion has been run since 1927.
Another big race is the Jubileumspokalen, which since 2009, has gained a new profile as an international race for five-year-olds.
