On 11 September 1953, the Dalarnas Society was founded and they were able to inaugurate their course in Romme in southern Borlänge on 3 July 1955.
Romme competes all year round. The Rommeheat, which was run for the first time in 1957, is regarded as Romme's largest race for Thoroughbreds. For the cold bloods, the Swedish-Norwegian race is a classic that has actually been run annually since 1956.
Romme is also one of the co-organizers of the three-year series E3, so every year some of the races in that series are run on the track. Another big crowd event is the midnight crowd that runs during the high summer.
Romme uses a starter car with angled wing. This means that the horses with the outside draws will receive a few meters at the start.
