The track was inaugurated on 10 July 1955 and is one of two courses in Hälsingland. Hagmyren is the other. The course is run by the Southern Hälsingland Travels Society, founded in 1951.
The biggest race on the track is the Bollnäs Race, dating back to 1962. Another big race on the Bollnästravet is Princess Madeleine’s Cup - for the preservation of the Swedish cold blood race, which is restricted to four-year cold bloods.
